2017 Voter Register Completed – EC

The Commission of Elections says it has completed the draft of the Voter Register and the list has been updated on the official website of the Elections Commission www.elections.gov.lk. However, the Commission observed individuals of the Colombo District, as well as the urban and semi urban areas of Colombo, have not exhibited interest in submitting registrations.

The Election Commission requested all citizens over 18 years of age to inform the electoral offices immediately if their names are not on the list. Further Election Commission says, citizens have the right and opportunity to examine the 2016 Voter Register, the names that have been omitted from the list and the names that have been added to the list.

The Commission noted only voters who have submitted registration forms for the 2017 electoral register will have the opportunity to vote in the upcoming elections.
