Weather Forecast For 9th September 2017

Prevailing showery condition over the island, particularly in the south western part is expected to continue. Cloudy skies can be expected at most parts of the island.

Showersor thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-western provinces. Heavy falls (about 100-150 mm) are expected at some places, particularly in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.

Showers or thunder showers may occur in the Northern province during the morning and fairly heavy falls (about 75-100 mm) also expected at some places.

Showers or thundershowers will occur elsewhere particularly after 2.00 p.m. fairly heavy falls (about 75-100 mm) are expected at some places, particularly in the Uva province and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts.

Fairly strong winds about 40-50 kmph can be expected in the Southern province.

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
