Ven. Dayarathana Thero & 7 Others Further Remanded
On September 26 an unruly mob of monks and their supporters threw stones and smashed windows and furniture of a UNHRC safe house in Mount Lavinia, where 31 Rohingya refugees, including 16 children and seven women were accommodated .
Among the mob Venerable Akmeemana Dayarathana Thero and 7 others were identified and subsequently arrested on 2nd October . They were remanded until October 9th by the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court.
When they were produced today before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court, they were ordered to be further remanded till 16th October.
