390 Dengue Deaths Reported This Year

The National Dengue Eradication Unit warns that there seems to be a rise in the number of Dengue patients reported from the North and Central Provinces following the recently experienced North Eastern Monsoon.

58,854 dengue patients have been reported from across the country during the course of this year, with 43.18% of the cases being reported from the Western Province alone.

The National Dengue Eradication Unit said,  that 390 dengue related deaths have been reported thus far, this year.

Community Specialist Dr. Prashila Samaraweera, a special Dengue eradication programme is set to take place in the Jaffna District yesterday , today  and tomorrow to curb the rapid spread of the dengue epidemic.
