Special Tax on Soft Drinks …….

Minister of Health and Indigenous Medicine Rajitha Senaratne said , if more than 6 grams of sugar is added to soft drinks, special tax will be imposed on such drinks. World Healt Organization has already approved it.

Already colour marks are made on bottles indicating the sugar contain. Minister said, that this decision was taken with a view to control sugar consumption in the best interest of the Public.
