Reduce Working Hours of Public Offficers – Bimal Ratnayake

In a press conference held yesterday, JVP Member of Parliament, Bimal Ratnayake said, that due to development in modern technology working hours being get reduced. But in Srilanka working hours are being increased. In private sector employees are compelled to work 9 hours per day.

Although no such problem in the public service, public officers have to spend more time on travelling. Hence, he suggested that current working hours of 8 hrs be reduced to 6 hours per day in respect of Public servants. Further, he insisted that the employees be paid in proportion to the quantity  of work they  have performed.
