Roads in Kotahena Area to be Closed Tonight

Police say several roads in the Kotahena area would be closed from today night (Jan. 05) to lay pipelines. Accordingly, the road stretch between Hettiawatte junction to Ibbagewatte junction on Aluth Mawatha in Kotahena will be closed from 9pm to 5am on Monday (Jan. 08).

The motorists are advised to use the following alternative roads during this time.

* The vehicles arriving from Pettah and Kochchikade need to be turned right towards George R. de Silva Mawatha and then turn left from Bloemendhal junction and then reach Aluth Mawatha using Madampitiya Road or St. James Mawatha.

* The motorists arriving from Mattakkuliya need to reach Bodhiya junction using Madampitiya Mawatha or St. James Mawatha and then reach Hettiawatte junction via Bloemendhal Road passing George R. de Silva Mawatha junction.
