Funeral of Dr. Wimalaratne Thera

The body of Dr.Wimalaratne Thera, Chief of Bellanwila  Vihara cum Vice Chancellor of Jeyawardena University  was brought from the Vihara to the Jeyawardena University grounds at 4 pm on Thursday (8) and cremation took place at 6 pm  in the presence of the President  Maithreepala Sirisena, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe, Speaker Karu Jeyasuriya and former President Mahinda Rajapakshe. Mahinda Rajapakshe and President Maithreepala Srisena  made funeral speeches among others last evening.
