Tilak Marapana Detects Reciting of National Anthem in Tamil, the Main Cause for Election Debacle?

 During the high level meeting of the UNP held under the Chairmanship of Ranil Wickramasinghe, Minister of Development Assignments and Foreign Affairs Tilak Marapana said, that every time national anthem was recited in Tamil, 50,000 votes were lost by the UNP. But Minister of Finance and Mass Media Mangala Samaraweera dismissed his observation.

At this meeting Sajith Premadasa said, as the Samurdhi Ministry is not with the UNP, more development work could not be done at the grass root level with the people.

Minister Harrison said, the delay caused in supplying the fertilizer to the farmers is the main reason for the election debacle. He insisted steps should be taken to regain the vote bank of Sinhala Buddhist.
