At a function held in Colombo yesterday, State Minister of Resettlement and Rehabilitation M. L. A. M. Hizbullah said, that approximately 1 billion rupees will be required to compensate those, who were affected by the recent riots in the Kandy administrative district.

Reports say that according to cabinet decision, a sum of 12 million rupees was allocated to the 12 injured victims and the families of the three persons who were killed.

In the meantime, compensation was made to persons, who were injured in the 2014 riots that broke out in Aluthgama and Beruwala took place yesterday ( 22).
