SLFP Exerts Pressure on PM Ranil Wickremasinghe to Resign

At a press briefing held at the SLFP Headquarters, State Minister Laksman Yapa Abeyawardena , reflected the thinking of SLFP Members of Parliament. As the subject matter of the no confidence motion against the Prime Minister revolves round the Central Bank Bond scam, it is rather difficult for them to vote against the no confidence motion.
Even if the SLFP executive working committee decides to vote against the no confidence motion, the SLFP MPs decided to vote according to their conscious. There is public cry that PM should resign. Further, his own party men too demands his resignation.Hence, Prime Minister RanilWickremasingheneed to come forward to resign his prime minister post. He has no other alternative. If he doesn’t resign on or before 9 pm on 4th April 2018, that will be the end of Unity Government he concluded.
However, few SLFP MPs have decided to follow the direction given by the SLFP leader Maithreepala Sirisena in connection with the no confidence motion. Time is clicking now…
