Southwest monsoon conditions are getting established over the island.

Showers or thunder showers will occur at times in Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-western provinces.

Showers or thundershowers will occur most places elsewhere particularly after 2.00 p.m.

Heavy falls, above 100 mm can be expected at some places, particularly in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, and Western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the morning.

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
