Maithri faction will support UNP after poll: Dy. Minister Aluvihare

 

Deputy Minister Wasantha Aluvihare stated today that President Maithripala Sirisena has assured that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) faction backing him would support the United National Party (UNP) after its election victory.

He said the new parliament could not be dissolved for four-and-half years and therefore Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe would continue to hold the office for the next five years.
