Chandrika Has Become Mouthpiece of UNP – Janaka Bandara Tennakoon

Ex-Minister Janaka Bandara Tennakoon today slammed Ex-President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga (CBK) for her statement yesterday, adding that she has now become a media spokesperson for the United National Party (UNP).

Speaking at a media briefing at Dambulla, Tennakoon stated that it was pathetic to see the daughter of late Prime Ministers (PM) SWRD Bandaranaike and Sirimavo Bandaranaike making such a statement. He recalled how Sirimavo Bandaranaike had protected the party following the assassination of her late husband.

Tennakoon pointed out that the statement is unfavorable to the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) at the time of the election. CBK made this statement due to her personal enmity towards Ex- President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Tennakoon also added.

He stated that SLFP should move beyond politics of hatred which Kumaratunga showed through her statement.
