2322 Persons Arrested in Island Wide Special Search Operation

Police Media Spokesperson Ruwan Gunasekara said that 2,322 people were arrested in the search operation conducted during the past 24 hours island wide and 423 of them were wanted persons.

14,070 Police officers and 1,796 road blockades were set up island wide in the special operation which had been carried out based on an order issued by IGP Pujith Jayasundara.

Police are conducting further investigations.
