(FASTNEWS|COLOMBO) – Popular artiste Jananath Warakagoda who was remanded in connection with a fatal accident at Kirillawala in Kadawatha, released on bail by the Mahara Magistrate’s Court on Monday (18).
He was released on a Rs. 10,000 cash bail and 2 sureties of Rs. 200,000.
The vehicle driven by Warakagoda knocked down the 62-year-old woman on the pedestrian crossing on the Kandy – Colombo Main Road at Kirillawela in Kadawatha.
The victim was pronounced dead on admission to the Teaching Hospital in Ragama. She was a resident of Kadawatha.
