Shani summoned to CID today

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – Former CID Director SSP Shani Abeysekara under interdiction over investigations conducted in connection with the Swiss Embassy employee Garniar Banister has been summoned to the CID for questioning today (23).

A senior Police official said Abeysekara has been officially informed to appear before the CID at 10 am today and summons to him was handed over at his residence. Investigations into this case has so far revealed that Garniar has been used by a third party to stage a drama that she was abducted.

Many other suspicious details had cropped up during investigations into this matter and Shani Abeysekara has been summoned to question them, he added.
