Postal voting to conclude today

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – Postal voting process for the 2020 Parliamentary Election will conclude today.

Marking of postal ballots for the 2020 General Election commenced last Monday with 705,085 electors eligible to cast postal ballots.

State sector employees who were unable to mark their postal ballots for the election thus far will be able to do so today.

The Election Commission said registered postal voters can mark their ballots at their respective District Election offices.

Election monitors said no major incident was reported during the postal voting process.

Meanwhile, postal voting was not conducted within the Rajanganaya Divisional area as planned due to the on-going quarantine procedure.

The Commission said a suitable date will be announced on a later day for Rajanganaya voters to mark their postal ballots.
