“Spider-Verse” suit comes to “Miles Morales”
(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – The arrival of “Spider-Man: Miles Morales” as a launch title on PS5 is being widely anticipated. In the vein of “Uncharted: The Lost Legacy,” this is a shorter length spin-off to 2018’s acclaimed “Marvel’s Spider-Man” that’s not a full length new “Spider-Man” game but goes way beyond just mere DLC.
As we know the focus shifts to the Miles Morales character, a small supporting role in the 2018 game who now gets his time to shine. The character was also the main character in the Oscar-winning 2018 feature “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”.
Now they’re joining forces as both a one-minute announcement trailer and ten-minute gameplay clip have been released today showcasing one of the numerous alternate costumes/skins available to unlock for Miles in the game – in this case the outfit is a direct lift from the “Spider-Verse” film.
It’s not just the hand-drawn style of the character transferred across but also his lower frame-rate style movement within the film (even as the background remains a smooth and higher frame rate). On top of that, comic book-style word balloons pop up during fights.
The game sees Miles trying to stop a gang war between the Roxxon Energy Corporation and a high-tech army called The Underground led by The Tinkerer. It arrives for PS5 on launch day November 12th.
