A couple who migrated to Italy on a boat was arrested at the Bandaranaike Airport upon arrival back to the country after 8 years.
The Couple aged 43 and 33 had left for Italy in 2008 after paying an agent an amount 200,000 rupees with a group of 50 people.
The suspects are said to be residents of Negombo.
The couple has child who is now 2 years old, who was born in Italy. The Italian Government has given the couple PR status after the birth of their child.
