Who Protects Corrupt Ministers?

In a press conference held at JVP Head Office Battaramulla, JVPs publicity Secretary, Member of Parliament Vijitha Herath said, that during Rajapaksa’s regime national as well as public assets were robbed by them, confirmed investigation reports. One of the corrupted dealing we have pointed out to the Government was in respect of Avant Garde. Powerful ministers were behind Avant Garde to protect them, Law and Order Minister was compelled to resign. People have selected this Government to eradicate bribery, corruption and misuse from public life. But the Government comprised by UNP and SLFP are not delivering the goods expected by the people. Instead they protect corrupt ministers and High Officers. It is the responsibility of the President and the Prime Minister to respect the people, who brought them to power. Certain independent commissions are not functioning up to our expectation. Central Bank Bond issue was brought to the notice of the Human Rights Commission, but no investigation has been done with the people concerned. Financial fraud caused by the Avant Garde is still continuing. Former senior security higher ups were behind Avant Garde fraud. Investigation into the corrupt activities should not be limited to former ministers, but it should include current Ministers as well.
Certain developments in the country is very interesting. Investigation into a house ownership revealed, that this house and the land belongs to no one. The contractor who constructed the house said, that Basil Rajapakshe gave money to him to construct the building. Architect cum Engineer said he knew nothing about the ownership. The court has ordered to auction the land and the building. In this instance, the thief has escaped and there is no punishment for him. Likewise no owner for CSN organisation. Here too accused escaped. Even some one in the Government said, that there was short coming in the investigation.  If President says, that there is political agenda in this investigation, it should be in the government. He should disclose it to the public as to who is responsible for this political hidden agenda?
Finally, he appealed to the officials of independent commissions other investigating units to carry out the investigations without fear or favour and bring the culprits to book.
