Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera is on a tour to London. He addressed a meeting in London acknowledging that there is difference of opinions among Government parliamentarian in inviting foreign Judges to serve in domestic inquiry mechanism to be established to inquire into war crimes and Human Rights violations in Srilanka. However, as mentioned in Maithri’s election manifesto, an independent inquiry mechanism will be set up soon. Having considered the sovereignty of the country and democratic principal adopted by the Government, consultation need to be made with the people concerned before setting up such mechanism, he concluded.
