UPFA MP Chamal Rajapaksa said, that he chaired the Parliamentary Oversight Committee on Transport and Communication, but Hambantota Port Concessionary Agreement has not been referred to this Committee.
Although, he initially involved in discussions to resolve the land related matters in Hambantota. Although he made some proposals he is yet to receive feedback. Commenting on the undervaluation of the lands, the MP pointed out that as the value of the land in the area has increased considerably, a special land valuation must be carried out in Hambantota, he concluded.
