Postal Minister Assures To Resolve Postal Workers Issues Tomorrow

Solutions for postal workers’ issues will be provided by tomorrow (26), stated the Minister of Post, Postal Services and Muslim Religious Affairs Abdul Haleem.
The Minister of Post, Postal Services and Muslim Religious Affairs Abdul Haleem pointed out that the government has taken adequate measures to grant the demands of the postal workers.
In this connection he Salaries Commission meets tomorrow and expected to approve the salary recommendations for the Postal Service. Followed by it the salaries commission recommendations will be presented to the Cabinet, said the Minister. According to him, the Chairman of the Salary Commission has already agreed to approve the proposal.
Meanwhile, the United Postal Trade Union Front Co-convener Chinthaka Bandara says that 25 more trade unions including   Ports, Education, Health, Estate and Public Management Services have pledged their support to the postal trade unioncause from today (25).
He further said that the strike will continue until their demands are met.
