Rishad Invited Iran to Invest in Srilanka

New High Commissioner for Iran in Srilanka, Mohamed Shiry mirani, who assumed duties has met the Minister of Industries and Commerce, Rishad Bathudeen at his ministry yesterday. After exchange of pleasantries, Minister has pointed out that Srilanka stood by Iran as an when Iran faced problems at International Level.

Despite Economic Problems, Economic relationship between two countries were maintained at high level. Srilankan’s trade turn over for 2014 was US.188 Million and up to September 2015, it was 114 Million US Dollars.

Srilanka remained as main tea exporting country to Iran. Apart from this, we export coconut products, Cashew nuts and Fiber products to Iran.

We import mainly crude oil from Iran along with fertilizers, iron, steel and transformers etc.

He invited Iran to invest in Srilanka and promised all facilities to Iran.
