Mahindananda’s Accummulation of Wealth Through Illegal and Inappropriate Means

Anti Corruption Front Convener, Wasantha Samarasinghe made a complaint against Mahindananda’s corrupt dealings to the CID, which in turn investigated by them  and case filed.

The CID has detected how former  Sports Minister  has accumulated huge wealth  through illegal means and deposited in local and foreign banks , which was used to acquire  considerable assets.

CID has recorded statements from 16 persons and made submission under money laundering to the Court on last Wednesday (24) and  sought permission to obtain further details of bank accounts  maintained by Mahindananda.

The Colombo Chief Magistrate, Gihan Pilapitiya ordered Managers of relevant banks to provide required details and documents to the CID.
