Former Additional Magistrate Thilina Gamage was asked to come to CID to record a statement in connection with keeping a cub elephant in his custody without authorization. He has informed the CID through his lawyers that he would not be present at the CID headquarters.
Instead of him, his lawyer Ajith Gamage appeared on behalf of ex-judge Gamage and requested that he be allowed to surrender to courts at the official chamber of Nugegoda additional magistrate Kanishka Wijeratne. As no case has been filed against him in a court , CID objected to this proposal.
Thilina Gamage has refused to report to the CID to give a statement.
CID official said,that Gamage would be arrested if he doesn’t report to CID during the course of today (25).
