​Field Marshal Fonseka’s Writ application dismissed

 

The Court of Appeal today dismissed a Writ Petition filed by Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka seeking an order directing the Secretary General of Parliament to appoint him as a Member of Parliament after removing Parliamentarian Jayantha Ketagoda.

In dismissing the application, the two-judge bench comprising of the President of the Court of Appeal Justice Vijith Malalgoda and Justice H.C.J Madawala observed that there was no legal provision to make such an order.
