Maldivian President Sent a Message of Condolence to President Maithripala Sirisena

Maldivian President , Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of condolence to President Maithripala Sirisena, following the demise of veteran vocalist, musician and composer, Pandith W. D. Amaradeva.

The Maldivian President in his message states the late Amaradeva will be fondly remembered by generations of Maldivians, present and future, for his contribution to the national identity of the Maldives by composing the music for the Maldivian National Anthem in 1972.

He  extended his sincere condolences and profound sympathy to the bereaved members of late Amaradeva’s family, the President, the government and the people of Sri Lanka.
