Avant Garde Ship to be Released to Owners on Rs 35 Million Bond

Avant Garde ship alleged to have misused state facilities plus armoury and earned millions of profit depriving the state, was ordered by the Galle Magistrate to take over by the Navy in October 2015.

Owners of this ship have made an application in the Galle Magistrate Court to release it in order to do maintenance and keep the ship intact. Having considered the current condition of the ship and arguments placed by both parties, Galle Magistrate today ordered to release the ship to the owners on Rs 35 million bond.
