No Increase in Bread or Bakery Products

Import tax on sugar and  palm  oil has been increased  . Taking import tax increase as an excuse bakery owners said to have been preparing to increase the bread and other bakery products . When inquired about  this from the higher officer  of  the treasury , he said increase in bread or bakery product will not  be allowed.

In the world market  one metric ton of sugar   was US$ 512  on 1^st December 2016.  It has now come down to US$ 408 . Hence,  imposing special tax on sugar cannot be  transferred to the consumers.  When  the production of palm  oil increase in the country,  treasury is prepared  to revise and reduce the tax.
