Request to Increase Prices of Imported Milk Food Turned Down

Imported milk food  is one of the items among other items  gazetted in extra ordinary gazette number 38 of 14^th August 2016. In this gazette notification  prices of  1  Kg  and 400g   imported   milk food  prices  were fixed at  Rs 810 and  Rs 325 respectively.

Companies importing milk food have made an application to  the  Chairman of Consumer  Affair Authority  to permit them  to increase  the prices of 1 Kg and 400 g  imported milk food packets prices   to  Rs 927 Rs 375  respectively.

 The Chairman Consumer  Affair Authority   has turned down the request  stating,  that  imported milk food items is one of the  essential service items gazetted by  the Government.
