Rs 5 & Rs 1 Coins in New Design

Central Bank of Srilanka has decided  to change the design of Rs5 and Rs 1 coins. Accordingly Rs 1  will be coated  with brass in ‘’ gold colour’’ and Rs 5 coin to be converted into  non rusting   steel in  ‘’ silver Colour’’ will be issued .  In the new Rs 5 coin some words will be removed.  The format appeared  in the Rs 5 coin issued in 2005   will remain the same in the new coin.
