Hambantota amended port agreement was presented in the cabinet yesterday (21). Followed by discussion on amended agreement, with the approval of the cabinet, President Maithreepala Sirisena has appointed a cabinet subcommittee comprising Susil Premajayantha, Patali Champika Ranawaka, Sarath Amunugama, Arjuna Ranatunga and Faizar Mustafa.
The committee was instructed to make their constructive recommendations after carefully studying representations made by port authority senior officers, Ministry secretaries and port affairs minister’s faction. Their recommendations should benefit the country, said President.
