Gambling with Sale Proceeds of Tigers Pistol, Army Sergeant Arrested
A disabled Army Corporal while serving a sentence in jail got acquainted with the assistant of underworld Leader Angoda Lokka. There was misunderstanding between the two at later stages. Angoda Lokka’s assistant has threatened the Corporal. After leaving the jail, the Corporal wants to buy a pistol for his personal use and contacted an Army Sergeant, who served in 211th Brigade dealing with terrorism investigations.
The Army Sergeant concerned has brought and sold a pistol used by LTTE to the Army Corporal for Rs. 2.5 lakhs on the 10th of August 2017.
With the sale proceeds he engaged in gambling in Wattala and Ragama areas and lost the whole thing. On information received, the police has arrested the Army Sergeant at Peliyagoda. Police carry out further investigation.
