Electricity Tariff Goes Up by 10%?

On the basis of a joint agreement between Ministry of Fnance, Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy and Ceylon Electricity Board increase in electricity fees was determined.

As per joint agreement 10% increase on electricity fees will be introduced. Accordingly Rs 1.60 per unit increase will be introduced. Corresponding salary increase of 25% will be granted to the employees of the Ceylon Electricity Board as from the year 2018.
