Rukman’s Comeback with the Opening of Electoral office in Dedigama [Images Included]

 

With the General Election at hand many candidates are busy opening Electoral Offices to coordinate their candidature. Fast News was privileged to witness a major comeback to the political stage by one of the most senior politicians in the United National Front for Good Governance (UNFGG).

Mr. Rukman Senanayake the grandson of the Late Hon. D.S. Senanayake the first Premier of Sri Lanka who first entered the Parliament in 1973 by winning the Dedigama Bi-Election contesting on the United National Party (UNP) ticket for the seat vacated by Hon. Dudley Senanayake the leader of the UNP and the Leader of the Opposition at the time when the Socialist Democratic Republic of Sri Lanka was under the United Left Front (ULF) government led by then Premier Mrs. Sirimavo Dias Bandaranaike.

The significance of Mr. Rukman Senanayake making a comeback to active Politics after a brief recess from the center, stage since stepping down as Chairman of UNP after the 2010 General Election.

Earlier this morning, the Rukman Senanayake Meheyum Kaaryaalaya in Dedigama Electorate was opened on the main Kandy road in Mahena in Warakapola.

The enthusiasm and nostalgic memories of the Senanayake patriotism was very evident with the warm welcome extended to Mr. Rukman Senanayake as the office was ceremonially opened with the solemnity of the blessings of the Triple-gem.

Many Urban and Local Council members from Dedigama and Kegalle District were present to extend their unconditional support to Mr. Senanayake to enter Parliament at the forth coming General Elections ensuring a resounding success to UNFGG led by Premier Ranil Wickramasinghe.
