President as the Chief Guest of National Day of Pakistan Today

President Maithripala Sirisena has left the country  to attend the National Day of Pakistan as the Chief Guest today (23).

The Head of State is attending the ceremony on a special invitation extended by Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain.

President Maithripala Sirisena and a 20-member delegation left the island for Pakistan last night.

President Maithripala is also scheduled to hold discussions with his Pakistani counterpart President Hussain and Prime Minister Shahid Abbasi.

Following talks the President will oversee the signing of four Memorandam of Understanding on Youth Development between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
