Exhibition of Sacred Relics.

The exhibition of sacred relics held in historic Gal Viharaya of Polonnaruwa simultaneous to the Pulathisi Poson Udanaya program was opened for worship by the President.

This sacred relic arrived from the Nelligala International Buddhist Centre, Kandy, the sacred relics of the hair and bone of the Buddha and the sacred relics of Maharahathan were kept in Sri Sakya Singha Suganda Kutiya were opened for worship.

President Sirisena who placed the sacred relics on the special stage for the worshipping of the public, first made his offerings.The religious rituals were conducted by the custodian of the Galvihara, Polonnaruwe Ven.Kandeketiye Aththadassi Thero.

Army Commander Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, Chairman of the Polonnaruwa Municipal Council Chanaka Sidath Ranasighe, District Secretary for Polonnaruwa Ranjith Ariyarathne and others were present in this event.
