Four persons were killed and another has sustained injuries in shootings reported in three separate incidents in Kosgoda early this morning (29).
Police said the shootings were reported in Yudhapitiya, Kurudugampiyasa and Manik Gammanaya.
Three persons of the ages of 13, 21 and 51 of the same family were killed in Yudhapitiya.
A 38 year old was killed in the shooting in Kurudugampiyasa. The injured individual suffered gunshot injuries in Manik Gammanaya.
The same group was involved in the shootings reported in the area, Police said.
Four persons who arrived on two motorbikes opened fire and fled the area.
